This programme is for you if you usually do sports and have a good physical background; if you can walk steep slopes up and down and don’t have health problems; if you lack vertigo; if you love nature, are environmentally friendly and are a regular hiker.
Tenerife is one of the greatest paradises for hiking. Tenerife’s trekking routes are recognised by experienced hikers as very versatile, spectacular and sometimes even demanding.
It is also one of the very few places that has the luxury of having all the climates of the world in such a small area. In a single day we can hike the snow-capped peaks of El Teide and walk along a coastal cliff with dreamlike views.
Winter, summer, spring or autumn, the island is definitely a dream for any hiker regardless of their level of experience and skill.
We have routes that range from the gentlest of complex family-friendly hikes with little gradient and idyllic scenery to the steepest of gorges that only the most expert hikers dare to cross.

The island is a melting pot of climates, soils and vegetation. Chamorga - Roque Bermejo
Chamorga is a village located at the northern end of the Parque Rural de Anaga, a protected natural area of great botanical interest, at the end of the TF-123 road.
The route starts where the Bar Casa Alvaro is located and continues along the Tafada path towards the mountain of the same name. From this mountain, the path descends towards the Lighthouse of Anaga and finally reaches a picturesque fishing enclave called Roque Bermejo. After an obligatory pause, the path starts its ascent towards Casas Blancas through the Barranco de Roque Bermejo ravine to return to Chamorga.

Puertito de Güimar - Malpaís
From the picturesque Puertito de Güimar, the walk follows along the sea side towards Montaña Grande, and walking back to El Puertito after going around this mountain.
The fascinating landscape of its Malpaís captivates from the first moment. It is an authentic treasure of great ecological importance that was declared protected area in 1987. Today, this Special Nature Reserve has a unique volcanic landscape that covers a large valley in the southeast of Tenerife, from the Montaña Grande to the coast.

Guajara Mountain
To the south, the Montaña de Guajara is surrounded by an impressive natural amphitheatre: Las Cañadas del Teide. Its peak, rising up to 2715 metres above the sea, offers unbeatable views towards the whole south coast of Tenerife and the spectacular omnipresence of Pico del Teide, in the north.
The Circular Path of Guajara starts from the Parador Nacional to reach the summit of the third highest peak of Tenerife. It is undoubtedly the most spectacular viewpoint towards the Pico Viejo and the summit of the Teide.

Lunar Landscape
From the village of Vilaflor itself, the old path takes you into one of the most spectacular landscapes of the Canary Islands. A dreamlike landscape that reaches its climax after going around "Montaña Bermeja". There, abruptly, rise an endless number of minarets and towers of a light reddish tone and volcanic origin, whose erosion has been shaped by the passage of time. It is undoubtedly one of Tenerife's greatest natural wonders.

Around the Chinyero Volcano
From the picturesque village of San José de Los Llanos we start an ascent to the last volcano of Tenerife: the Chinyero (eruption in 1909).
This is an environment protected as a Natural Reserve, where several craters of different periods have left their mark.
The path is well signposted and, after crowning the area known as Arenas Negras, the route starts a descent by the northern flank returning to San José de Los Llanos. The spectacular views of the Pico del Teide will accompany us almost all the way on foot.

This accommodation is set in the surroundings of an extensive farm of avocado trees and other tropical fruits.
Güimar, a town in the northeast of Tenerife, is a municipality with an ancient agricultural tradition that is timidly opening up to tourism with this type of rural accommodation.
The Hotel Rural Finca Salamanca offers all the services and comforts that are typical of an accommodation of these characteristics, in a wonderful setting surrounded by plants and flowers of all kinds.
With spacious rooms designed with care and elegance, harmoniously integrated in a landscaped environment where large centenary trees survive today among the avocado plantation.
The hotel's main dining room is located in an old barn that has been exquisitely decorated in the style of traditional farm implements. In an adjoining space in the form of a pergola we find the second dining room to enjoy breakfasts in the open air.

Vilaflor, located in the foothills of Mount Teide at 1,400 metres above sea level, is the highest village in Spain. In this high mountain setting is the Hotel & Spa El Tejar, a small family-run hotel with a warm welcome and exquisite service. The treatment is meticulous and the sensation of feeling "at home" persists throughout your stay.
The 14 rooms of the hotel are warm and very comfortable, traditionally decorated with no detail missing. The hotel is ideally situated in an oasis of peace and tranquillity where absolute silence reigns supreme at night.
But in the lounge you can't miss a cozy wood-burning fireplace that will keep the coldest nights warm. Although the sun usually presides intensely the daily hours in an enclave located above the clouds, on the south side of the island of Tenerife.
HOTEL RURAL GARA
The intricate streets of Garachico are lined with old palatial mansions that survived the eruption of 1706. It is in these surroundings that we find the Hotel Rural Gara, an old traditional Canarian building, beautifully restored and facing the infinite ocean.
From its roof terrace, now converted into a breakfast area, you can enjoy an uninterrupted view of the sea overlooking the small town of Garachico. In the area surrounding the hotel you will find natural swimming pools and a genuine local atmosphere, as well as many terraces, restaurants and small tapas bars.
The rooms of the Hotel Rural Gara maintain the traditional tone of the building but add all kinds of comforts, typical of this type of accommodation. Garachico, located at sea level, is an ideal place to enjoy the last nights in Tenerife.

Difficulty
To successfully achieve the 6 Walks it is necessary a good physical condition, steady walk and lack of vertigo. According to the year season, temperatures can be extreme (hot and/or cold). Therefore, it is necessary to have suitable warm clothes permanently, to be removed as layers if necessary. Some parts of this trail include passages with slippery loose stone. Although most of this trail is roomy enough, certain sections are quite aerial and require caution. Using hiking poles is highly recommended.

The Canary Islands has a well signposted network of trails. All sections where from our tours are perfectly marked. In addition to the detailed map of Tenerife, you will get from us precise indications of each route and assistance from the hotline on your walks.
We recommend
Appropriate hiking clothing and sturdy footwear. During the tours, it is necessary to have food and drink enough, as well as sun protection, a cap, wind jacket and, in the winter months, warm clothing.
Luggage transfer
We move your luggage from one accommodation to next, so on your hikes you should only carry a backpack with the essentials of the day. For the whole trip, it is recommendable to use a single suitcase, not bigger than 20 kg.
You can book at any date!
TENERIFE has two airports: Los Rodeos airport in the north (TFN), close to the capital, is ideal for those staying in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, La Laguna or Puerto de La Cruz or for those intending to connect with a local flight to other islands.
However, international flights mainly arrive at Reina Sofía Airport, located to the south (TFS). This airport is close to the port of Los Cristianos and the tourist centres in the south. It is the most convenient airport if you want to travel to the islands of La Gomera or El Hierro.
