The 10-stage version keeps daily distances between 14 and 25 km on well-marked paths, which most reasonably fit hikers can manage — you just need to be comfortable walking several days in a row. The 8-stage version includes two long days of 30-35 km and is only recommended if you regularly do full-day hikes. The terrain is never technical, but the north coast is stony and constantly rolling, so trekking poles and worn-in boots make a real difference.

Menorca (MAH) has direct seasonal flights from many European cities, and year-round connections via Barcelona, Madrid or Palma de Mallorca — the Palma hop with Air Nostrum takes just 45 minutes and runs several times a day. The tour starts and ends in Maó, ten minutes from the airport, so no extra transfers across the island are needed. Airport-hotel taxis are easy to find and take about 10 minutes.

The route is the same; what changes is how the effort is distributed. In 8 stages you'll walk between 15 and 35 km a day, with demanding days such as Maó–Arenal d'en Castell (35.3 km) or Ciutadella–Cala Galdana (30.3 km): this is the option for hikers in excellent physical condition (difficulty ▲▲▲▲△). In 10 stages the daily distances drop to between 14 and 25 km, splitting those two long days into more manageable sections (difficulty ▲▲▲△△) — ideal if you prefer a gentler pace and two extra days on the island.

Absolutely — the Cami de Cavalls is a safe, well-marked trail (GR-223, red-and-white waymarks plus wooden posts), and many of our guests walk it solo. We publish a specific solo traveller price that covers single rooms in every hotel, and our 24/7 phone support means you're never really on your own. The navigation app works offline, which is reassuring in the few mobile 'shadow zones' on the north coast.

Yes. Before you start, you download each stage to our app; the maps, track and points of interest then work completely offline using your phone's GPS. This matters on the wilder northern stages, where mobile signal drops in some ravines. We also give you printed maps at your first hotel as a backup.

April-May and late September-October are ideal: mild temperatures for walking, warm sea for swimming, and quiet coves. July and August are hot with very little shade, so we don't recommend the long stages then. Winter walking is perfectly possible — days are shorter but temperatures stay mild. You can start on any date, subject to hotel availability, and note that high-season hotel prices (May-September) can raise the package price.

Skipping a stage and rejoining the route the next day is straightforward, and because your hotels are pre-booked, your luggage and bed are always where they should be.

Each morning you leave your suitcase at the accommodation's reception and we transfer it to the next hotel, so during the stages you only carry a light daypack with the essentials for the day. When you reach your next accommodation, your luggage will already be waiting for you. For the whole trip we recommend a single suitcase per person weighing no more than 20 kg.

More than technical difficulty, the challenge is the accumulated effort: 8 to 10 consecutive days of hiking over rocky, leg-punishing terrain, especially on the north coast with its constant climbs and descents into ravines. For the 8-stage version you need excellent physical condition and to be used to long-distance hikes; the 10-stage version is suitable if you're in good shape and hike regularly. In both cases, trekking poles are highly recommended.

In the 8-stage version: Maó ▸ Arenal d'en Castell ▸ Binimel·là ▸ Cala Morell ▸ Ciutadella ▸ Cala Galdana ▸ Son Bou ▸ Binibèquer ▸ Maó. The 10-stage version adds two intermediate stops: the first day is split into Maó ▸ Es Grau and Es Grau ▸ Arenal d'en Castell, and the Ciutadella ▸ Cala Galdana section is divided into Ciutadella ▸ Son Xoriguer and Son Xoriguer ▸ Cala Galdana. As it's a circular route, you start and finish in Maó — very convenient for flights.

Our programme goes around the island starting with the north coast (Maó ▸ Ciutadella) and returning along the south. This way you tackle the wilder, more demanding half — the tramuntana coast, with its cliffs, greater elevation gain and fewer services — on fresh legs, and save the postcard coves of the south (Macarella, Turqueta, Mitjana, Son Saura) for the second half: flatter terrain with more swimming opportunities, the perfect reward for the final days.

To secure your booking, a deposit of €150 per person is all it takes; the balance is paid 15 days before arrival. We confirm within 24 hours and, if there's no availability, we refund your payment or suggest alternative dates. The cancellation policy is: 100% refund (except the initial deposit) up to 21 days before arrival; 50% refund or a free date change between 15 and 7 days; 25% between 6 and 3 days; and no refund from 48 hours before arrival.

It's very hard to get lost: the Camí de Cavalls is the GR-223 trail, certified to European standards and waymarked with wooden posts and the classic red-and-white GR stripes in both directions, hugging the coast almost the entire way. On top of that, the programme includes our custom App with downloadable maps, GPS navigation that works offline, and descriptions of the key points of each stage — especially useful in the mobile-coverage "dead zones" of some northern ravines.

It includes 9 or 11 nights of bed-and-breakfast accommodation (depending on the format you choose) in charming, strategically located hotels and guesthouses, all the necessary transfers of people and luggage for each stage (except on arrival and departure days), a personalised information video call on your arrival day, maps to collect at your first hotel, stage descriptions and GPX tracks, our custom App with offline GPS navigation, and 24-hour support and assistance throughout the trip. It does not include flights, airport–hotel transfers, lunches and dinners, or the Balearic tourist tax.
