Completed the 6 day Trails of La Palma tour with Natour last week. Some truly unforgettable hikes through amazingly varied and beautiful terrain. Organisation was great with taxi pickups and details of local buses where needed to get us back to our accommodation. The views from the Roque de los Muchachos was out of this world. The trails are tough with some serious climbs but if you’ve done the training this is a real bucket list experience.

The one week’s hike at El Hierro not only fulfilled my expectations, it went way beyond. The nature is astonishing, varied: mystical and misty woods, lava landscapes that look like huge piles of coal, lava with beautiful patterns, breathtaking views, sunrise and sunset at the deep-blue Ocean, and meadows looking like cut out of an English landscape. The routes were carefully chosen and covered all parts of the island. Never too long or too short, or too difficult. The local guide is a true goldmine of knowledge about nature, plants, geology, volcanology, legends, and history. The hotels were quiet and clean. A perfect holiday. I am already planning to go back.

I booked 5 tours. 2 tours were cancelled, one of them was cancelled at 10pm the day before. I’m traveling around the islands and planned my stay in La palma based on these tours which was quite sad. The tours I’ve visited were nice and professional, no doubts

The GR131 route continues its relentless ascent to Volcán Martín, 1500 metres above the sea. A little further on are the twin craters of Las Deseadas, at the highest point of the Ruta de Los Volcanes (1949 metres above sea level). After enjoying some superb panoramic views, we start a gentle descent towards Refugio del Pilar (1450 metres above sea level), where today's stage ends. Additional overnights

It is also possible to book some additional days, before or after the hiking week, or an additional week to relax.

Difficulty

To successfully achieve the 3 stages fromGR 131 it is necessary a good physical condition, steady walk andlack of vertigo. According to the year season, temperatures can be extreme (hot and/or cold). Therefore, it is necessary to have suitable warm clothes permanently, to be removed as layers if necessary. Some parts of this trail include passages with slippery loose stone. Although most of this trail is roomy enough, certain sections are quite aerial and require caution. Using hiking poles is highly recommended.

Trails

La Palma has a well signposted network of trails, over 1000 km long. All sections where from our tours are perfectly marked. In addition to the detailed map of La Palma, you will get from us precise indications of each route and assistance from the hotline on your walks.

We recommend

Appropriate hiking clothing and sturdy footwear. During the tours, it is necessary to have food and drink enough, as well as sun protection, a cap, wind jacket and, in the winter months, warm clothing. We do offer wooden walking sticks for free.

Singles

The program is suitable for single travelers, although it is subject to an additional charge.

Luggage transfer

We move your luggage from one accommodation to next, so on your hikes you should only carry a backpack with the essentials of the day. For the whole trip, it is recommendable to use a single suitcase, not bigger than 20 kg.

You can book at any date!

Price do not include flights, dinners, and picnics. You can book at any date!

Before formalizing your booking accommodations availability must be requested
