  We had a fantastic experience with Natour Travel while hiking the GR131 on Tenerife. Our first contact with Natour actually started some time ago, when we were looking into hiking the GR131 on Gran Canaria. We got in touch with Belén and immediately had a very positive impression of Natour and the way they work. Eventually, we changed our plans from Gran Canaria to Tenerife and we are very happy that we decided to organise this trip with Natour. They arranged everything around the hike: our accommodations, luggage transport from one hotel to the next, and transfers to and from the start and finish points of the different stages. Everything worked perfectly, allowing us to simply focus on hiking and enjoying Tenerife. What really stood out was their flexibility. On several days we finished our hike much earlier than the estimated time, sometimes almost two hours early. It was never a problem. We simply got in touch, Natour contacted the taxi company, and our pickup was moved forward. No hassle, no complicated arrangements just quick, friendly and practical service. Exactly what you want after a long day of hiking! We previously organised our GR131 hikes on Lanzarote and Fuerteventura completely ourselves, including all accommodations and logistics. Having now experienced how easy and enjoyable Natour makes this, we already know that we will use them again for the remaining islands. Gran Canaria, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma are still on our GR131 list and Natour will definitely be our first choice to organise them. A huge thank you to Miguel, Belén and everyone involved for the excellent organisation, personal contact and incredible flexibility. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.   Natour were fast, efficient and friendly from the start. We've walked thousands of Kms of trails all over the world, but those Natour pulled together for us were spectacular - some of the best we've experienced. They maintain contact via WhatsApp and were flexible around our wants and needs. Everything came together very smoothly. I'd recommend them strongly.

  Independent walking holiday Tenerife & La Gomera with Miguel as our local support from distance. Very good support with daily contact/reminders for us via WhatsApp which was excellent. He provided us with extra gpx files which was great so we could track with our watches. I would book directly with natour travel anytime.

  Alberto organized a great trip for our group. All the connections ferries and taxis were on time and very professional. Alberto was extremely helpful and easy to connect with when questions came up. The hotels he used were very comfy and made our stay even more enjoyable.   Natour travel organised our walking holiday on Fuerteventura very well - all the details were taken care of. The accommodation was great, and we enjoyed walking the GR131 route. The weather was cooler than we expected, but this made the walking easier. We'll definitely use Natour again for another Canary Island adventure! John

  We booked a 7 day self guided walking holiday with Miguel from Natour.  It was very well organised and we had a meeting with Miguel the day before we started walking to discuss the route and logistics.  The walking was scenic and varied.  The combination of taxis and buses to and from trailheads worked well.  The hotels were comfortable, clean and friendly.  Miguel was also available to rearrange a taxi drop off point when we needed modify a walk due to poor weather.   I would be happy to recommend Miguel and Natour to others thinking of booking a self guided walking holiday.

  Fuerteventura Feb 26 Just completed a 6 day trek over most of Fuerteventura. Very happy with the trip and accommodation It all worked really well, taxi and luggage transfers and I loved the out of the way stays. This is my second trip with Natour and will go again and would recommend Simon

  Natour developed a bespoke accommodation and walking plan for 4 people on a recent 1 week holiday to Menorca - walking the Cami de Cavalls. This included researching suitable hotels to our budget and arranging for our luggage to be collected and moved between hotels each day. They provided maps via the platform Outdooractive. Day 2

The Water Trail and the Garoé Tree

The island of El Hierro reflects its history through the water. Its past, its present and its future. This is a hike through the nature of the island that allows us to discover the meaning and importance of water, both in remote times and in the immediate present and future. Walking from San Andrés towards Valverde, we will cross the mythical Garoé and its pools.

This was a sacred tree for the aborigines of the island, which was said to cry water. Located in a legendary forest in the middle of the route to Valverde.

And in the afternoon, when the route is over, a visit to the natural pools of El Tamaduste is almost mandatory. An exceptional enclave near Valverde to end the day with a refreshing swim and, if there is enough time, a walk through the Tamaduste lava flows.

Day 3

San Salvador Hermitage and Isora viewpoint

Next route takes us along the edge of the summit, from the Hermitage of San Salvador to the Mirador de Isora. A panoramic route with spectacular views of El Golfo and the other islands: La Palma, La Gomera and Tenerife.

At an altitude of 1,350 meters above the sea and with an extraordinary view of El Golfo, the path leads us along the edge of the cliff to the east, descending in altitude until we reach the Fireba mountain and the La Llanía viewpoint.

Through La Llanía we head through ancient hidden volcanoes towards Timbarombo and then descend through the Nisdafe Plateau until we reach the Isora viewpoint.

A shocking cliff opens at our feet, with vertical drops of up to 600 meters. The vision of Las Playas takes on a dramatic and spectacular aspect at the same time. And in the afternoon, we will try swimming in the natural pools of Las Calcosas.

Day 4

The south and Last Volcanoes Route

Today we are going to discover the volcanic landscape of the south. From the sunny town of El Pinar, located 800 meters above the sea, our path leads us south, descending to the sea. It is a route in permanent descent crossing a spectacular landscape of recent volcanoes.

After the obligatory coffee at the bar in the square, Calle La Paz heads downhill, converging with Calle La Hoya. And walking through these streets you will go through the magnificent volcanic environment around El Pinar, starting a permanent downhill that will end at El Tacorón Beach.

Next to this small paradisiacal-looking beach is the Devil's Cave, which is well worth a visit. After a refreshing swim on the beach, the bus takes us back to Tigaday.

Day 5

Rest day

Today is a free day to rest, relax and enjoy the extraordinary tranquility of the island. Or make the best of the splendid pools and natural pools located along the coast of El Golfo, such as Charco Azul , or La Maceta . Day 6

The forest trail: El Morcillo - Malpaso

Today's trail begins at Hoya del Morcillo to ascend towards the peaks, crossing beautiful century-old pine forests and reaching remote fayales and heather in magical ways.

A beautiful forest of large centuries-old pines makes its way on our descent until we reach the Hoya del Morcillo. This is a recreational and camping area located between volcanic cones, very close to the town of El Pinar.

From this point the ascent back to the summit begins, passing through the Cueva del Mocán. Shortly before reaching the Cruz de Los Reyes, it is surprising to find some dense forests with enormous laurels, fayas and heathers, which were used in the past to produce charcoal.

Now the trail is part of the "Camino de la Virgen" (GR 131) running along the edge of the El Hierro summit and enjoying exceptional views of both sides of the island.

Day 7

The World's End Route

Sabinosa is the westernmost town in El Golfo. It is located on a slope 300 meters above the sea. A path starts from there to wind its way up the cliff to the edge, with spectacular views of the semicircle that makes up El Golfo.

The route continues towards the Mirador de Bascos, located on a cliff 600 meters above the sea, with superb views over El Golfo, La Gomera and La Palma.

And after a short break, we return to the path to the Hermitage of the Virgen de Los Reyes, patron saint of the island of El Hierro. The trail borders the Montaña de las Cuevas where we find the characteristic junipers of impossible shapes dotting the path.

The bus transports us back to the hotel crossing the majestic landscape of recent volcanoes in the west of El Hierro.

This is a small family hotel located in the capital of the island, Valverde. It has a simple but comfortable appearance and is run by a friendly staff, who take great care of their guests, going out of their way to attend to their every need. Valverde, with a population of barely 5,000 inhabitants, is a quiet urban centre situated 600 metres above the sea on the eastern side of the island.

With only 17 well-appointed rooms, the Boomerang Hotel offers basic breakfast services in a cafeteria attached to the hotel.

Difficulty

The hiking routes included in this programme are of a medium difficulty and require an adequate physical condition. In order to participate and enjoy the trails, it is essential to be in good health and to practice a sport on a regular basis.

We recommend

Appropriate hiking clothing and sturdy footwear. During the tours, it is necessary to have food and drink enough, as well as sun protection, a cap, wind jacket and, in the winter months, warm clothing.
