The Botanical North

Excursion to the Botanical North of La Palma
Discover the greenest part of the island of La Palma on this bus tour. This is the area of the island that is characterised by its lush vegetation and deep ravines. And our first stop will be at the viewpoint of San Bartolo, where Doña Flora prepares the most delicious barraquitos of the island.
Los Tilos rain forest
We then drive through a narrow gorge with high, steep walls to the UNESCO-protected nature reserve of Los Tilos. There we enjoy the pleasant coolness. The waterfall is an attraction and in the visitor centre we learn about the diverse flora of the laurel forest.
Los Tilos has one of the most important laurel forests in the Canary Islands.
The laurel forests
It is an ecosystem from the Tertiary period, which was once the island’s first Biosphere Reserve and which today conserves a natural heritage of exceptional value.
A short walk afterwards through the picturesque village of San Andres, surrounded by banana plantations and with its historic church square, one of the most beautiful places on the island.
The Dragos Forest
In La Tosca we find an impressive forest of hundred-year-old dragon trees that have managed to withstand the vicissitudes of the island. They are scattered in an environment of extraordinary beauty and spectacular views over the north coast of La Palma.

The approximate duration of each walk is about 45 minutes. These walks are optional and, if you prefer, you can stay on the bus during this time.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and bringing something warm and sporty shoes such as tennis shoes. In addition to stopping at the various viewpoints, we will also make a stop where there are places to eat or have a bite to eat. Payment is at your own expense.
