Dolphin and whale watching excursion

Excursion offered in collaboration with OceanExplorer

Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday you can join a superbe sea excursion to see the beauties of the north coast and also to enjoy the sympathy of the dolphins accompanying the boat.

The transfer to the port of Tazacorte is by public transport. La Palma enjoys excellent “guagua” (bus) connections and you can travel comfortably using the prepaid bus card that we will provide you with after purchasing your excursion (to be pay €10). The amount charged on this card is adjusted to the return journeys.

Cueva de los piratas en Tijarafe - La Palma And arriving to Tazacorte harbor will start your excursion with the Flipper boat, heading towards the north of the island and discovering the spectacular cliffs of this area of La Palma. An impressive boat trip to enjoy a peculiar maritime area. There you will find such picturesque enclaves as the Cueva Bonita, a deep grotto of magical colours. Or the fantastic Pirates Cave, whose real name is Porís de La Candelaria, an old fishing refuge with cave houses carved into the concavity of the cliff.  Finally, the Flipper heads towards Playa de La Veta, a solitary beach of fine volcanic sand that is difficult to access by land, situated in the lap of an imposing cliff.

After enjoying the sea and the beautiful coastal scenery, our boat heads out to sea to spot the colonies of dolphins and whales that nest in these latitudes.  And rare is the day that they don’t show their presence when they hear our boat approaching. The dolphins are friendly and play with the keel of the Flipper, jumping and smiling in a peculiar way.  Other marine animals such as turtles or even whales often come to meet us as well. The boat is accompanied by marine biologists and expert guides, who will give you interesting information about the characteristics and natural habitat of these animals.

But the final highlight of this excursion before the return to the harbour is the breathtaking view of the lava river that overflowed into the sea after the recent eruption. A breathtaking view of the new volcano from the sea that shows us the relentless force of nature.

avistamiento de delfines en los gigantes de tenerife If you go to Puerto de Tazacorte harbor with your car, the Flipper is located at the entrance of the marina, on the first ramp, 20 metres from the kiosk.
